HOW DID RE/MAX & FRIENDS COME ABOUT?
We all need to know we have friends who will be there for us if the going gets tough. And that’s exactly the ethos behind the RE/MAX & Friends Foundation; it is there to provide support when it’s needed most.
In 2013, a RE/MAX team member, Karl Cutajar, was diagnosed with cancer and given just months to live. Although the prognosis was very bad, the company bandied together and raised €16,000 – €1,000 from each RE/MAX office to help Karl.
This initiative inspired RE/MAX Malta to set up their own foundation and today, RE/MAX associates, managers, and franchise owners donate a percentage/fixed fee from every sales or lettings contract to the Foundation.
The funds collected from this initiative together with additional fundraising efforts are then donated to charitable causes.
OUR CORE PURPOSE
The RE/MAX & Friends Foundation is dedicated to providing help and support when it is needed most.
As the largest real estate company in Malta, we are aware that there are numerous families that depend on our organisation – and that is a responsibility that we take seriously. Sadly, we also know that tragedy can strike at any time, and we feel that it is our obligation to assist in every way possible.
Beyond that, we also believe that it is our duty towards the generation of tomorrow – today’s children and the community at large, to give something back. Through our on-going fundraising efforts, we do our utmost to support children between the ages of 0-18 years; particularly those suffering with chronic illnesses and other diseases and conditions.
The core purpose of RE/MAX & Friends Foundation is:
- To take care of tomorrow’s generation
- To take care of our own RE/MAX Family and Friends
- To provide back to the community at large
